Johanna Borenstein is a chamber musician and orchestral player, and has performed with the San Diego Symphony, the San Diego Opera, the Asian-American Symphony, the Debut Symphony Orchestra, the Stockton Symphony, the Santa Monica Symphony, and the daKah Hip-Hip Orchestra. She has been a finalist and semi-finalist for the New World Symphony, Stockton Symphony, Houston Grand Opera, Modesto Symphony, San Antonio Symphony and the Boise Philharmonic.

A graduate of the Colburn School of Music in Los Angeles, Johanna has soloed and performed extensively with the Colburn Symphony Orchestra including performances at Los Angeles’ Disney Hall and Zipper Hall. She has also performed at New York’s Carnegie Hall and Jordan Hall in Boston. Johanna has a Bachelors’ of Music at the Hartt School of Music, a Masters Degree at the San Francisco Conservatory and a Performance Certificate from the Colburn School of Music. Previous mentors include renowned flutists Jim Walker, Tim Day and John Wion.

Currently Ms. Borenstein teaches a full studio and collaborates with several orchestras and chamber ensembles in concert. She has been featured in a collaborative audition workshop for both the Los Angeles Philharmonic and the Colburn School. Johanna partook in the Colburn School’s “Outreach in Elementary Schools” music program and is an advocate for music education.
